The wI0OK 442.850 repeater located near Platte Lake and the village of Honor covers portions of northern Benzie county and the southwestern corner of Leelanau county.

This repeater is equipped with a six meter remote base operating through the 52.92 Glen Arbor repeater and effectively links it to that machine.

This repeater is in operation only during times when the repeater owner (WA8ZWJ) deems it necessary, it is not in operation 24/7/365, the tubes last longer that way.

Few people realize that there is a high power ham station located near the shore of Platte Lake.  Most don't realize the thick group of power lines weaving down Deadstream road and making a turn toward an inconspicuous cottage on the lake.

To the left you see the RCA transmitter capable of putting out 20Kw on six meters.  This unit is used for the cross-link to the Glen Arbor 52.90 repeater.

The racks house numerous receivers, station controllers,  and monitoring equipment.
This view shows another transmitter capable of high power on six meters, but this one would serve better use on 442Mhz.   It's only 6Kw.

In the background are the electric panels for the 500 ampere three phase power.

An Amateur repeater would not be complete without a powerful backup power generator.

This 100Kw generator will keep the repeater transmitters on the air for days should the power company faulter.   Natural gas is supplied to this from a large (2000 gallon) tank outside the building.
